DJ Fresh's back catalogue makes him something of a legend in electronic music. From his humble beginnings in a seaside town in Sussex, Fresh has taken the world of electronica by storm, and cemented his place in history by releasing both the UK's first dubstep number 1 "Louder" and first drum and bass number 1 "Hot Right Now", both from his album Nextlevelism.
Riding high after his huge Top 5 hit ‘Gravity’ featuring Ella Eyre earlier this year, Dan Stein – aka DJ Fresh – is one of dance music’s true visionaries. An uber producer, DJ and label owner, the creative whirlwind is one of the driving forces behind the drum ‘n’ bass scene. He first made his indelible mark with drum ‘n’ bass group Bad Company before starting a solo career in 2003 and forming the label Breakbeat Kaos, home most famously to Pendulum.
With support from the likes of Zane Lowe and Annie Mac, Fresh’s tracks have gone on to rewrite the drum ‘n’ bass rulebook, taking in jump-up dubstep, electro, Dutch house and even moombahton rhythms. He has since scored huge hits alongside the likes of Diplo, Ellie Goulding, Dizzee Rascal, Sian Evans and Rita Ora, with whom he scored the UK’s first ever drum ‘n’ bass Number 1 with ‘Hot Right Now’
